Keeping you updated...

A lot has been happening at our household and everyone is curious about the goings on. First, the nursery is finished. Yea!! Thanks to my wonderful hubby and all his hard work. We are glad it is done since the past few weeks have been extra exciting.
I had a bad night two weeks ago and called the doctor and told him the symptoms. They suggested I come in to OB ER at University of Utah Hospital. (Where I am planning on delivering.) Tests suggested I was in labor and that they wanted to stop that since I was only at 31 weeks. They were able to stop contractions and I was able to go home the next day. The next week I had another difficult night and told my doctor two days later at my appt. He checked me and I had dialated to a one. He told me he was going to go ahead and give the steroid shots to help the babies lungs develop quicker. I got the first one that day and had to come back 24 hrs. later to get the second and final shot. That night I had horrible contractions again. I informed the midwife when I went in for my shot and she thought she better check to see if there had been any change. Yep there was. I was now a 3. In 24 hrs I had gone from a 1 to a 3. Not good. So off I went again to be monitored and was given drugs to stop the labor. The whole goal was to allow the steroids to be in me for another 24 hrs to help the babies. Thanks to many prayers in our behalf we reached that goal and the labor stopped and I was able to go home to my family.
Things are going well currently. I am not on bed rest as many believe I am or should be. My doctor doesn't believe in bed rest. I have some restrictions but basically am a mobile, waddling woman. :) I am feeling pretty good, just big and slow. The twins are very active which is a great comfort to me. Although, I wish their kick boxing matches with one another would not be so violent and in my ribs.
I go in next Monday for an ultrasound and another Dr. appt. I will get to see how much these little ones weigh. Last measurement a month ago had them at 3.5 lbs. each. So they may be close to five now and it sure feels like it.
I will update this blog if anything new happens before the appt. If you don't see anything know that all is well and we are all just hanging around. Thanks to everyone for their love and prayers and help with my girls. We are truly blessed with the greatest family, friends and neighbors.
